'tis the season

From the smartest person I know (which means he should know better than to get into this, but too late now):

Ok, I'm getting way out of my depth and entering a fantasy football league. Guide me. Is there a primer online somewhere that will teach me how to crush my opposition?

Keeping in mind that you're talking to a) an MIT grad b) who wouldn't know a 4-3 defense if it sat on him--where's everyone getting their insider!information! this season and where would you send a babe-in-the-woods neophyte first? Discuss.

Buy the draft package and season pass from Rotoworld.com. Best $25 you'll spend all year.

I think it's an advantage to be without a lot of football knowledge and history with fantasy. You can approach it from a numbers perspective and do well. If you want cold numbers, go to FFToday. It's free and they'll rock your ass off.
Also, no matter what you do, stay away from Denver. They will eat your soul, and worse, ruin your fantasy season.

But, if you're in my fantasy league, FFToday sucks. Don't go there. You won't like it.

Modifying Jeebs' statement on Denver slightly: Stay away from Denver OFFENSIVE players, they will wreck your season. Feel free to draft the defense. Otherwise, Mike Shanahan hates your fantasy team.

I second FFToday unless you are playing against me, then, I shall give you no hints.

fantasyfootballchamps.com is great, but it's a pay site. I could send your friend an excel sheet with rankings it would help. I've won about half of the leagues I've entered using their info.

These are all great resources--anywhere I can point him that explains how this all actually works before he dives into the numbers? (Like, literally A Primer?)

This is a decent primer. Beyond that, this is a good step by step guide to get you rolling.
