Is he going to replace yelling "apple! apple!" With "duck! duck!"?
Posted by: Hank Scorpio at October 2, 2007 12:02 PMI call Photoshop on that picture. I watched all four quarters of that game and don't recall a Bronco even getting that close to Manning.
Posted by: Signal to Noise at October 3, 2007 12:19 AMI didn't get to see a second of it, but he's rocking the blue jersey, so it might not even be from this weekend. Just saw it on the wires and giggled.
Posted by: Holly at October 3, 2007 07:11 AMAlso: *preen*
Posted by: Holly at October 3, 2007 07:11 AMI think I'm gonna start wearing the front-tucked-hand-towel regularly. The office, tailgating, rec league softball. I'm often in need of a soft dry wiper-upper... tuck one in the slacks... problem solved!
Posted by: Grubby at October 3, 2007 07:18 AMIt's last weekend's game for sure. They didn't have the captain "C"'s on the jersey until this year.
(/uniform geekery)
And go ahead and preen for now, but just wait until...
...fuck, just keep preening. Every member of the Broncos should be made to get a temporary tattoo reading "PROPERTY OF PEYTON MANNING" re-applied every so often until they finally decide to hit him.
Posted by: Signal to Noise at October 3, 2007 10:10 AMYou're right, and good grief are those things goofy.
Posted by: Holly at October 3, 2007 10:11 AMThe Cs, I mean. Not temp tattoos. Although those are largely ridiculous. Although I miss rocking a T on my cheek every weekend. [scene]
Posted by: Holly at October 3, 2007 10:55 AMThe captain C's would be better if they let each team design them in their own script (like say, the NHL's "C" and "A" on sweaters) rather than the universal design, which looks goofy on every single team.
Posted by: Signal to Noise at October 3, 2007 11:22 AMTotally. It makes the jerseys look like knockoffs.
(Also, long shot--you didn't happen to tape/Tivo the game, didja? *adorable blinking in the general direction of SLO* I'm used to Colts games being preempted for Titans coverage, but missing them to watch the Raiders is just sad.)
Posted by: Holly at October 3, 2007 11:26 AMNo, neither you nor I are that lucky. I watched it via Sopcast on the computer, because we get saddled with Raiders, Chargers, and Niners games up here. Sadly, the streamed NFL site is now kaput because some Florida radio host stupidly called the NFL to ask if it was legal.
Fuck him right in the goddamn ear.
