my neighborhood > your neighborhood

I can't believe one of these hasn't killed me yet, but you do not understand how sublime they are. If the vendors were out earlier I'd eat them for breakfast.

Frustrated, angry and desperate, the licensed hot-dog vendors of the Fashion District formed what may be the first professional organization for street vendors in the United States, the Hot Dog Vendors Association. They've had some meetings, stressing that their initial goal is to give their industry a semblance of sophistication and self-respect. And on January 17, in response to the LAPD's junk-car law enforcement, the group staged a protest of nearly 50 vendors in front of City Hall and at the LAPD's Central Division station.
I'm writing the musical at this very moment. Like Newsies, but with delicious bacon instead of William Randolph Hearst.

50 vendors in front of City Hall? The food orgy of my dreams.

My arteries are creaking just from reading that linked article. Mmmm bacon.

I'm drooling just thinking about a hot dog wrapped in bacon, smothered in everything they douse on it (mustard, ketchup, mayo, onions, and some do relish).

It's one of the very few things I miss about L.A. Nothing better than that $2 bacon wrapped dog at 2 A.M. after clubbing.

Did anyone ever check to see if William Randolph Hearst tasted like bacon after being grilled road-side? The Newsies theme might be easier to carry off than you think.

I'm a simpler critter...no condiments, just bacon and raw onions. [falls over, dead]

Have you been to Pink's yet? I'm pretty sure they take the hot dog thing to the next level.

Meh. The lines are too long and the dogs are not that great and there's MTV reality stars all over the place. I'll pass. Particularly when I can get The Real Thing on the sidewalk in front of my building.
