I meant to throw this out there before UCLA rendered it irrelevant: Last week, I believe in reference to Western Kentucky, Uncle Verne delivered the most flawlessly executed in-game sponsor plug I've ever witnessed:
You know, they say it's impossible for an underdog to go the distance in the Dance, but they also said it's impossible to get real Coke taste and zero calories.Cut to commercial, and cut to my jaw hitting the floor. Well played, sir. Added bonus: This joke goes with everything. "I thought it'd be impossible to fake a seizure in order to leave the office and watch basketball, but I also thought it was impossible to..." They write themselves. Try it!
Hate to break it to you, but that was scripted. They've done it (multiple times) in every game that I've watched, and not just Verne.

Posted by: Holly at March 28, 2008 11:45 AMTwenty bucks says McCain throws a "They say it's impossible for the U.S. to build a stable democracy in Iraq, but they also said . . . " sometime between now and November.
