ACHIEVEMENT IN MUSIC WRITTEN FOR MOTION PICTURES (ORIGINAL SONG)

"Almost There," The Princess and the Frog
"Down in New Orleans," The Princess and the Frog
"Loin de Paname," Paris 36
"Take it All," Nine
"The Weary Kind (Theme from Crazy Heart)," Crazy Heart

LIVIA: In a perfect world, "Almost There" would win for being the best Disney song since "Gaston", but I think Nine has made us all realize that this is not the most ideal of all universes. I'll go with "The Weary Kind", since you can't make a movie about a sad old musician without a sad old song.
NASTINCHKA: I wanted to love the Princess & the Frog music so much more than I did, but like I said earlier, I just can't pin down a blockbuster song in the thing. It's good; it's entertaining, but it's not the world-beating Menken of years past. Crazy Heart.
