Still in the middle of editing this post, which is showing up for no reason at all. Moment, dearest.

Posted by Holly at October 27, 2007 08:21 AM

Is not entirely true!!!...He went to Boston.

We're all more than happy to have you as a Pac-10 fan. I know your loyalties begin and end with the SEC, but it's nice to have you here.

Posted by S2N at October 27, 2007 09:12 AM

I feel like the SEC should have its own anthem, that in my head sounds like the Soviet anthem and celebrates our history of blunt trauma and genetic superiority.

Posted by Holly at October 27, 2007 09:15 AM

Blunt force and genetic superiority?

Methinks you might want the German national anthem for a base.

Posted by S2N at October 27, 2007 10:16 AM

Have you ever heard the song, though? It sounds the way I imagine it should.

Posted by Holly at October 27, 2007 10:18 AM

The Soviet anthem? Yes, I know what you're getting at. The Big Televen's anthem would be akin to Spain's: good sound, still trying to come up with words.

I'm cursing the Four-Letter for deciding that Michigan State-Iowa was more important to telecast to the West Coast than Intramurals U. vs. Lubbock Pirate Academy.

By all means take a neutral stance on USC - Oregon. Whoever wins that one has a moral imperative to win out so that ucla doesn't get through to the Rose Bowl... not because I object to the bruins (although I do, object that is) but because if they make it and then crap the bed like they did against Florida State last year, we'll never hear the end of it.

That's why ASU needs to win as well - Cal's already fallen by the wayside. No pity.

In any case, my brother went to Oregon, so I can't find it in me to get too riled up against them.

Mind you, I'm not sure I can bring myself to watch the game either. You'd have thought that I had developed a case of the DTs during the first quarter against Notre Dame.

Yeah, if you had the shakes during that skullfucking, you might want to turn away from what should be a close game. (Although holy hell, last week was fun.)

Posted by Holly at October 27, 2007 12:07 PM

UCLA'll be a joy no matter what. If they lose, all is right with the world; if they win, Bruins Nation implodes. And we do dearly love to watch Bruins Nation implode.

Гимн Юговосточное Конференция?

Posted by ПётрJayhawk at October 27, 2007 12:12 PM

I would actually pull a Red Dawn and use the word for "collective". But close.

Posted by Holly at October 27, 2007 12:14 PM

DC - that whole giving it to McKnight on 4th down already after recovering a kickoff fumble is already inspiring fits of Tourette's at my TV.

Holly, I wonder what Bruins Nation folk will do if they ever do manage to run Karl Dorrell out of town. I know the Bruins, when they win, win despite him, not because of him, but I've almost started pulling for him because the rabid hordes have no mercy.

Nice, WWL:

"UPSET WATCH: #12 USC 3, #5 Oregon 10"

Posted by Holly at October 27, 2007 02:02 PM

Tennessee is playing really well! Nice to see USC fall. Also nice to have a weekend without a Notre Dame loss.

Here's one you might want for later:

BLAKE MITCHELL: You mean to tell me that there's a job that Mr. all go, no stop, big nuts Steve Spurrier can't handle by himself, and needs MY help?

SPURRIER:Something like that.

BLAKE MITCHELL: Well now is it something LIKE that or IS it that?

(Hey, use'em while you've got'em.)

(Scene: The Giants prepare for their London game against Miami.)

ELI MANNING: (Sketching furiously) This charcoal image of Buckingham Palace is going to be perfect for my RISD admissions portfolio!!

PLAXICO BURRESS: Eli, what the hell. You're supposed to be our quarterback, not a street caricature artist.

ELI MANNING: (Trying to hide tears) My mom says I can be anything I want to be!!

PLAXICO BURRESS: (Coolly) And your father?

ELI MANNING: (Silence)

MICHAEL STRAHAN: (Grinning) BIG BEN CRUMPETS LOTS OF RAIN!!

AMANI TOOMER: You know, the sociopolitical culture of Great Britain is really a fascinating study. The European fingers of colonialism had a long and cruel reach...

MICHAEL STRAHAN: (Jumping, clapping)FISH AND CHIPS HARRY POTTER WE HATE FRANCE!

JEREMY SHOCKEY: (Screaming forcefully) Get out of here, you damned Redcoats!! DON'T TREAD ON ME!

COACH COUGHLIN: (Trying to reach him) Sshhh, Jeremy, calm down...calm down. We're in THEIR country.

JEREMY SHOCKEY: FREEDOM ISN'T FREE, COACH. I'M FROM THE U. THE U!!

MICHAEL STRAHAN: Bad teeth!

ELI MANNING: (As raindrop falls on his sketch book) Damn it...(beginning to cry, rubbing it furiously) DAMN IT....

JEREMY SHOCKEY: I'LL TAKE ALL YOUR FUCKING TEA!

Giants over Dolphins.

So posting that.

Holly, the ND DTs came before the eyeball got popped out for the skull-fucking. I took the kids to the park yesterday afternoon but my brother very thoughtfully kept me up to date via text message.

However, all is not lost. All SC has to do is lose until the UCLA game, and then we will win. Embracing teh suck seems to have worked for Utah, ND, and Wazzoo.
